Changes to real estate plumbing must adhere to Title 5 which states:

"Title 5 of the State Environmental Code, 310 CMR 15.000, is a regulation that protects you and your community. Title 5 requires the proper siting, construction, and maintenance of all on-site wastewater disposal systems. On-site systems that are not properly located and maintained can contribute pathogens and nutrients to surface and ground waters, endangering drinking water supplies, wildlife habitat, and surface water bodies."

It is governed by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.  Changes to real estate property must meet the guidelines set by the Massachusetts General Law for the Wetlands Protection Act.  In September of 2010 the Plymouth Wetlands Rules and Regulations were amended.  You can read them HERE.

Gurnet and Saquish properties are designated into one of five types of lots.  Each lot is given a one letter designation depending on location.  The lot codes for each Gurnet Saquish neighborhood are:

  1. Gurnet Point  (G)
  2. Saquish Neck/Beach (B)
  3. Saquish Head (H)
  4. Fort Standish (S)
  5. Western Point (W)
