Gurnet and Saquish are
in a coastal flood zone surrounded by protected wetlands. GurnetSaquish
home owners looking to make approved changes to their home or property must
obtain a conservation permit or a conservation and zoning permit.

Changes to real estate plumbing must adhere to Title 5 which states:
"Title 5 of the State Environmental Code, 310 CMR 15.000, is a regulation that protects you
and your community. Title 5 requires the proper siting, construction, and
maintenance of all on-site wastewater disposal systems. On-site systems that are
not properly located and maintained can contribute pathogens and nutrients to
surface and ground waters, endangering drinking water supplies, wildlife
habitat, and surface water bodies."
It is governed by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
Changes to real estate property must meet the guidelines set by the
Massachusetts General Law for the Wetlands Protection Act. In September of 2010 the Plymouth Wetlands Rules and Regulations were amended. You can read them HERE.
Gurnet and Saquish properties are designated into one of five types of
lots. Each lot is given a one letter designation depending on
