PURPOSE
Welcome to GurnetSaquish.com. The purpose of the GurnetSaquish.com website is to connect residents, families and
friends of the community online in order to protect the recorded, living
and structural history of Gurnet and Saquish, the coastal and marine
environments that surround us and the lifestyle that has existed to some
degree for over 200 years. Important information has until now not
been available to homeowners, relatives, invited guests and former
residents. While it is important to protect the community it is also
important to make certain information available in the interest of
safety, history and community. This website was built to educate
residents and visitors about the natural and man-made dangers that exist
in this fragile place. Gurnet-Saquish is private property amid
protected wetlands. To visit the community you must have permission. Uninvited guests are subject to fines and prosecution. As you scroll down on this page you can read more about the "parent" pages of the website and the "sub pages" beneath them. All content is copyrighted and used by permission only. If you believe in our mission and would like to support us you may purchase an ad or buy a product in the store. The BULLETIN BOARD page features
updated information from the DUXBURY HARBORMASTERS office on beach road conditions, important community events, and the latest bulletins for the community. There's no cost to members and non profit groups to post their information, notices, craft fairs and items for sale on this page. The BULLETIN BOARD page is also the parent page for the CALENDAR, NEWS and SEARCH pages.
The CONNECT page is the parent page for the FORUM, NEWSLETTER, GUEST BOOK and SURVEYS. Share your opinions, keep up with community news, sign the Guest Book and respond to the SURVEYS. You can also submit your personal history for inclusion on the HISTORY page as well as view other websites created by residents and relatives of Gurnet and Saquish. The FISHING page features updated Massachusetts fishing reports as well as licensing, limits, and world records. The GAMES page features a comprehensive list of outdoor beach games and indoor cottage games for rainy days. The MOVIES page features links to MOVIES at area theaters including trailers, reviews and ratings. You can even buy your movie tickets online. Finally the READING page features a variety of books and articles from local authors and those with a particular interest in the sea and ocean front living. The PROTECT page is the main page
for four sub pages; FIRE SAFETY, CONSERVATION, HISTORY, PRESERVATION and WILDLIFE.
These pages are linked through buttons below or from the navigation bar
above. The purpose of the PROTECT pages is to educate residents,
families and friends about the the dangers of fire, the conservation of
this unique environment, the history of Gurnet and Saquish, the preservation
of the land and historic buildings and the protection of wildlife that
are so important to the ecosystem and the character of this special
place. Additionally,
certain videos are featured which focus on important environmental
issues that relate to the community in general and responsible living
overall.A live link to the status of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station is provided below. The plant's operating capacity is monitored by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

for the TIDE CHARTS and STORM CENTER pages. These pages include updated forecasts, the latest tide charts in real time and radar overviews of impending storms. Emergency preparedness information is also included from the American Red Cross, the National Hurricane Center and more.
